Collection: Malachite

A copper carbonate mineral, known for its rich green color and distinctive banded patterns.

Malachite forms in the oxidized zones of copper deposits,
often alongside azurite, and can develop as it gradually replaces it over time.

Its layered patterns are created as mineral-rich solutions deposit in stages,
building curved, concentric bands within the stone.

The color comes from copper within the structure,
producing a deep green that ranges from bright to nearly black.

Malachite has been used since ancient times — ground into pigment, carved into objects,
and worn as ornament across cultures including ancient Egypt and Rome.

Unlike many crystalline minerals, its form is often solid and patterned rather than transparent,
with structure revealed through layers rather than clarity.
