About This Piece
About This Piece
This ring features apophyllite, a mineral specimen long admired for its bright reflective faces and naturally architectural growth. Fine apophyllite specimens from India are especially prized by collectors, often forming in open cavities within ancient basalt flows where crystals had room to develop clean edges and glassy surfaces. Its name comes from the Greek for “to flake off,” referring to the way some specimens can separate along delicate planes. Apophyllite has also appeared in crystal lore for generations, sometimes associated with gazing and reflection because of its clear, window-like faces and light-catching presence.
Stone Meaning
Stone Meaning
Apophyllite is often associated with clarity, insight, and emotional lightness. Many people are drawn to it when they want a sense of openness — something that feels calm, reflective, and mentally clearing rather than heavy or intense.

Details
Formation: Apophyllite is a hydrated potassium calcium silicate fluoride mineral that commonly forms as a secondary mineral in cavities within volcanic basalt. In India, it is especially well known from Deccan Traps deposits, where mineral-rich fluids moved through gas pockets and fractures, allowing apophyllite to crystallize in well-shaped prismatic or pyramidal forms, often alongside other zeolite minerals. Its bright lustre and clean crystal faces make it highly valued in mineral specimens.
