Aquamarine is a blue variety of beryl, a beryllium aluminium silicate mineral that forms in granite pegmatites, where slow cooling allows crystals to develop with good transparency and structure. Its blue color is typically caused by trace iron. Herkimer Diamond Quartz is a double-terminated variety of quartz composed of silicon dioxide, valued for its naturally formed pointed ends and high clarity. In this ring, the aquamarine has been hand-cut and polished to follow the character of the original crystal, while the Herkimer Diamond Quartz remains in a more natural crystal state, preserving its geometric form and light-catching edges.
