About This Piece

A mineral specimen ring featuring an Aragonite cluster from Morocco and Blue Calcite from China, paired in a composition that feels both earthy and airy.

Aragonite is known for its radiating crystal growth, often forming in clustered sprays or starburst-like structures that look as if the mineral is unfolding outward from a central point. Its warm orange-brown tone is often influenced by iron, which gives it a more grounded, sun-baked character. Blue Calcite offers a very different visual contrast — softer, paler, and cloud-like, with a tone that often feels closer to sky than to stone.

Calcite has been known since antiquity and was especially important in early mineral studies because of its optical properties, while aragonite was later distinguished as a separate calcium carbonate mineral with a different crystal structure from calcite. In pieces like this, what makes the pairing so special is not symmetry, but contrast: branching and solid, warm and cool, radiating and open.

Stone Meaning

Aragonite is often associated with grounding, structure, and stability.
Blue Calcite is often linked to calm, ease, and gentle emotional balance.

Together, they create a sense of balance through contrast — warmth and softness, structure and space.

Details

Stone: Aragonite Cluster (Morocco), Blue Calcite (China)

Formation:
Aragonite and calcite are both calcium carbonate minerals, but they crystallize in different structures. Aragonite commonly forms in radiating clusters, fibrous growths, or elongated prismatic crystals, often in low-temperature mineral environments where mineral-rich solutions deposit material over time. Its orange to brown tone is frequently linked to iron.

Blue Calcite forms in softer, more massive or cleavable structures and is valued for its gentle colour and translucency. Some pieces may show slight greenish areas from associated mineral presence or natural variation within the material. Together, these two minerals create a strong visual contrast between clustered crystal growth and softer mineral mass.

Ring material: Brass with 18k gold-tone finish.
Alternative finishes and sterling silver versions may be available upon request, depending on the design.

Care

Because this piece features natural raw crystals, gentle care will help preserve its beauty.

• Avoid strong impact or dropping the ring
• Remove before showering, swimming, or exercising
• Keep away from perfumes, lotions, and chemicals
• Store separately to protect the crystals
