About This Piece

A natural azurite specimen from China, set as mineral specimen jewelry. Azurite has been valued for centuries for its exceptionally rich blue, and in earlier periods it was widely used as a pigment in painting, manuscripts, and decorative arts. In raw specimen form, though, it feels very different from ground pigment—the colour has depth, movement, and a more crystalline presence. Pieces like this are especially appealing because the surface is left natural, allowing the vivid blue texture and uneven mineral relief to remain visible. It feels closer to a collector’s specimen than a polished gemstone, which is exactly part of its character.

Stone Meaning

Azurite is often associated with clarity, insight, and inner vision. Many people are drawn to it as a stone that feels deep, perceptive, and mentally awakening.

Details

Stone: Azurite (China)

Source: China

Formation:
Azurite is a secondary copper carbonate hydroxide mineral that forms in the oxidized zones of copper deposits, where copper-bearing solutions react with carbonate-rich host rocks near the surface. Its intense blue colour comes from its copper content. Depending on the deposit and growth conditions, azurite may form as earthy masses, botryoidal crusts, velvety coatings, or drusy and microcrystalline aggregates. In this specimen, the natural surface texture and sparkling relief reflect raw mineral growth rather than cutting or polishing, preserving the structure of the original specimen.

Ring material: Brass with silver-tone finish.
Alternative finishes and sterling silver versions may be available upon request, depending on the design.

Care

Because this piece features natural raw crystals, gentle care will help preserve its beauty.

• Avoid strong impact or dropping the ring
• Remove before showering, swimming, or exercising
• Keep away from perfumes, lotions, and chemicals
• Store separately to protect the crystals
Clean gently with a soft dry cloth when needed.

Special mineral note:
Some minerals, such as malachite and azurite, naturally contain copper and should not be ingested or inhaled in dust form. Normal jewelry wear is generally considered safe, but avoid prolonged moisture, scratching, or damage to the stone surface.
