Formation:

Their iridescent colours come from a thin oxide layer on the surface that creates interference effects as light reflects.

Chalcopyrite, by contrast, is a naturally occurring copper iron sulfide mineral that forms in hydrothermal veins and sulfide ore deposits. Its metallic luster and brassy tone come from its chemical composition and dense crystal structure. Together, these two materials create a strong contrast between geometric crystallization and raw mineral texture.
