About This Piece
About This Piece
Resembling a carved rose but formed entirely by nature, this Desert Rose is a mineral specimen shaped over time in arid conditions. It is typically composed of gypsum with fine desert sand naturally trapped between crystal layers, creating its distinctive petal-like structure. Each formation develops differently, which is why no two pieces ever look exactly the same.
Desert Rose is especially loved for its sculptural form — soft in appearance, yet created by one of the harshest landscapes on earth. Its name comes from its natural rose-like crystal habit, making it one of the most recognisable and collectible forms in the world of mineral specimens.

It is often chosen by those who want a piece that feels stabilising, reflective, and gently protective.
Details
Details
Stone: Desert Rose (Morocco)
Formation: Desert Rose is a rosette-shaped variety most commonly formed from gypsum in dry, sandy environments. As mineral-rich water evaporates, gypsum crystals develop in layered, radiating clusters while fine grains of sand become naturally included within the structure. This combination gives the specimen its matte, petal-like appearance and distinctive desert-formed texture.
Ring material: Brass with gunmetal-tone finish.
Alternative finishes and sterling silver versions may be available upon request, depending on the design.
