Formation:
Quartz forms as silicon dioxide crystals, often growing from silica-rich fluids in open spaces within rock. Epidote commonly forms in metamorphic or hydrothermal environments where calcium, aluminium and iron are present. When these minerals grow together, Quartz may form clear points while Epidote develops as green prismatic or granular crystals along the base.
