Formation:
Fluorite commonly forms in hydrothermal veins and cavities where mineral-rich fluids cool and crystallize over time. Its octahedral shape is a natural crystal habit, created by fluorite’s internal cubic crystal structure and cleavage directions. Chrome diopside is a chromium-bearing variety of diopside, typically formed in igneous and metamorphic environments; its vivid green color comes from chromium within the crystal structure. Herkimer Diamond Quartz forms as naturally double-terminated quartz crystals in open cavities, where the crystals can grow freely from both ends without being attached to a base.
