Green Prehnite, Blue Apatite & Blue Kyanite Bow Ring

A playful yet delicate ring made with Green Prehnite from Morocco, a small Blue Apatite accent from Madagascar, and Kyanite from Brazil.

The prehnite is arranged in a bow-like shape, giving the piece a softer silhouette while still keeping the natural texture of the stone. Prehnite has a long history in mineral collecting and is often noted as one of the first minerals to be formally described from South Africa in early modern mineralogy, later becoming well known for its gentle green glow and botryoidal or crystalline habits. Kyanite, with its layered blade-like structure, is especially interesting because its crystal form is so distinctive that it often looks architectural even in small pieces. Together, the three minerals bring different structures into one composition — soft, bright, and linear.

Formation:
Prehnite is a calcium aluminium silicate that commonly forms in cavities and veins of low-grade metamorphic and hydrothermal environments, often developing rounded botryoidal surfaces or softly crystalline aggregates. Apatite is a phosphate mineral that forms in igneous and metamorphic environments and can develop vivid blue colour depending on trace elements and composition. Kyanite is an aluminium silicate mineral formed under metamorphic pressure conditions, typically growing in elongated bladed crystals with a naturally layered structure.
