About This Piece
About This Piece
This mineral specimen features hematoid quartz with dolomite and chalcopyrite, sourced from China.
The quartz shows a soft red to orange tone, caused by iron oxide inclusions formed during crystal growth. Rather than sitting on the surface, this color is held within the structure of the crystal, giving it a deeper, more integrated appearance.
Across the surface, pale cream-colored dolomite has developed in clustered formations. These formed after the quartz, attaching to exposed areas as conditions in the mineral environment shifted.
Scattered throughout the specimen are metallic chalcopyrite inclusions, appearing as warm gold-toned accents. These formed in later stages, crystallizing within available spaces across the structure.
Together, the piece records multiple stages of mineral formation — from iron-rich quartz growth to secondary mineral deposition — preserved within a single structure.
Stone Meaning
Stone Meaning
Hematoid quartz is often associated with grounding and clarity, combining the structure of quartz with the stabilizing presence of iron.
Dolomite is commonly linked to balance and softness, while chalcopyrite is often associated with confidence and energy.
Together, they are often seen as a combination of structure, balance, and subtle strength — something steady rather than overwhelming.

Care
Care
Because this piece features natural mineral crystals, gentle care will help preserve its structure:
• Avoid dropping or strong impact — crystals can be fragile
• Keep away from prolonged moisture or direct water exposure
• Avoid contact with chemicals or cleaning agents
• Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve the natural color
• Store or display in a stable, dry environment
Clean gently with a soft, dry brush or cloth if needed
