Herkimer Diamond Quartz & Copper Rutilated Quartz Ring

This ring brings together two very different quartz formations, each shaped by a distinct geological environment.

The clear crystal is Herkimer Diamond Quartz from Pakistan — naturally double-terminated, with points forming on both ends of the crystal. Unlike polished stones, it retains its original structure, including dark mineral inclusions formed during growth.

Beside it sits a spherical Copper Rutilated Quartz from Brazil, where fine, copper-toned needle-like inclusions developed within the quartz over time, creating a dense, internal texture.

Both are quartz — but they carry completely different visual and structural characteristics. One is open and directional, the other layered and concentrated.

Formation:
Herkimer Diamond Quartz is a variety of double-terminated quartz that forms freely in cavities, allowing both ends of the crystal to develop naturally. Its inclusions often reflect surrounding mineral presence during formation.
Copper Rutilated Quartz forms when needle-like rutile or hematite inclusions grow within quartz during crystallisation, creating internal linear structures that appear suspended within the crystal. These inclusions form under specific temperature and chemical conditions over long geological periods.
