Formation: Herkimer Diamond Quartz forms in open cavities within dolostone, where crystals grow freely without attachment, developing naturally double-terminated points.
Copper Rutilated Quartz forms in hydrothermal environments, where needle-like mineral inclusions become embedded within quartz during crystal growth. These inclusions develop as the crystal forms, creating linear internal structures rather than surface features.
