Phantom Quartz & Aquamarine Sphere Ring

A ring made with two polished crystal spheres from Brazil — Phantom Quartz and Aquamarine.

Aquamarine takes its name from the Latin aqua marina, meaning “water of the sea.” In older lapidary and folklore traditions, it was often carried by sailors as a protective stone for sea journeys. Formation:
Phantom Quartz forms when crystal growth is interrupted and then resumes again, leaving visible internal outlines made by earlier growth stages or mineral inclusions. These layered “phantoms” are natural records of the crystal’s development. Aquamarine is the blue variety of beryl, coloured mainly by trace iron, and typically forms in pegmatites where mineral-rich fluids allow crystals to grow slowly and develop clarity.
