Purple Grape Agate & Dioptase Band Ring

The purple stones are Purple Grape Agate from Indonesia — a trade name commonly used for botryoidal chalcedony, named for its naturally clustered, grape-like form. Its rounded surface gives the piece a softer rhythm.

At the center is Dioptase from Congo, a copper-rich mineral known for its vivid emerald-green colour and crystalline intensity. The name Dioptase comes from Greek, referring to the way its internal cleavage can be seen within the crystal.

Together, they create a contrast that feels unusually complete — soft form at the sides, sharper depth at the center.

Purple Grape Agate is a botryoidal form of chalcedony, made up of tiny quartz crystals that grow in naturally rounded clusters.
Dioptase is a hydrated copper silicate mineral that forms in the oxidised zones of copper deposits, where copper-rich fluids crystallise into intensely green, glassy crystals.
