About This Piece

Creedite is a calcium aluminium sulfate fluoro-hydroxide mineral, known for forming fine needle-like crystals in radiating sprays, clusters, and flower-like growths. Its name comes from Creede, Colorado, where the mineral was first described.

This specimen from China has a fuller, more textured cluster form, with pale cream to translucent Creedite crystals growing densely across the matrix. Instead of one open flower shape, it shows many small crystal sprays and granular crystal areas layered together, giving it a rich, natural surface. The mix of warm beige, grey, and darker matrix areas makes the piece feel earthy and collectible.

Creedite usually forms as a secondary mineral in oxidized hydrothermal environments, especially in fluorine-rich deposits. Its delicate acicular crystal habit is part of its appeal, but also means the specimen should be displayed and handled with care.

Stone Meaning

Creedite is often associated with clarity, perspective, and emotional release. Its clustered crystal habit gives it a sense of lightness and expansion, like small points of energy opening outward.

For crystal lovers, Creedite can be a meaningful display piece for reflection, openness, and creating a calmer space.

Care

Because this piece features natural mineral crystals, gentle care will help preserve its structure:

• Avoid dropping or strong impact — the formation can be delicate
• Keep away from prolonged moisture or direct water exposure
• Avoid contact with chemicals or cleaning agents
• Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve the natural color
• Store or display in a stable, dry environment

Clean gently with a soft, dry brush or cloth if needed.
For delicate crystal points, fibrous textures, soft minerals, or fragile clusters, avoid frequent handling.
