About This Piece
About This Piece
This ring features natural Ruby, the red variety of corundum, shaped into a heart while still preserving a raw mineral specimen texture. Its vivid pink-red tone comes from chromium within the crystal structure, giving the stone its rich, saturated color.
Ruby has been treasured for centuries across Asia and Europe, often associated with nobility, vitality, and protection. Unlike a fully faceted ruby gemstone, this piece keeps a more organic surface and natural mineral character, allowing the stone to feel textured, direct, and earth-formed.
What makes this ring special is the contrast between symbol and material: the heart shape gives it a romantic, emotional silhouette, while the raw corundum texture keeps it bold, grounded, and less conventional than a traditional ruby ring.

Stone: Ruby / Red Corundum (China)
Source: China
Formation:
Ruby is the red variety of corundum, an aluminium oxide mineral that forms under high temperature and pressure in metamorphic and igneous-related environments. Its red to pink-red colour is caused by trace amounts of chromium replacing aluminium in the crystal structure. In raw specimen form, ruby may appear granular, crystalline, or naturally textured rather than transparent or faceted.
Ring material: Brass with 18k gold-tone finish.
Alternative finishes and sterling silver versions may be available upon request, depending on the design.
