About This Piece

This piece features raw ruby in its natural mineral specimen form — not cut into a traditional gemstone, but preserved closer to the way it formed within the earth.

Ruby is the red variety of corundum, one of the hardest natural minerals known. Throughout history, ruby has been associated with vitality, protection, royalty, and inner fire. In ancient Burma, warriors believed rubies symbolized strength and courage, while medieval traders called ruby the “king of precious stones” because of its intense color and rarity.

Unlike faceted ruby jewelry, this specimen keeps a much more geological character. The crystal structure appears loose, granular, and naturally clustered, with countless small crystal faces catching light across the surface rather than forming one solid polished gem. That texture gives the piece a raw mineral presence — vivid, organic, and almost glowing from within.

Rather than perfection, this ring highlights the beauty of ruby in a more untouched state: crystalline, uneven, and formed slowly over time through natural geological processes.

Stone Meaning

Ruby (Red Corundum) is often associated with passion, vitality, courage, and personal strength. It is a stone many people are drawn to when they want more momentum, confidence, and a stronger sense of inner fire.

Its energy is often seen as bold rather than delicate — connected to drive, determination, and feeling fully present in what matters to you.

Details

Stone: Ruby (Red Corundum)
Source: China

Formation:
Ruby forms as corundum, an aluminium oxide mineral, under high-temperature and high-pressure geological conditions. Its red colour is mainly caused by trace chromium within the crystal structure. Rather than forming as a single transparent crystal, this specimen developed as a loose aggregate of small corundum crystals, creating its sparkling granular texture and vivid raw mineral surface. Unlike faceted gemstone ruby, pieces like this are valued for their natural crystal structure, specimen character, and unpolished geological form.

Ring material: Brass with gunmetal-tone finish.
Alternative finishes and sterling silver versions may be available upon request, depending on the design.

Adjustable open band
One size — fits most, approx. US 5–9.5

Each crystal is naturally unique. Shape, color, clarity, crystal texture, and inclusions may vary.
