About This Piece
About This Piece
Ruby in fuchsite is a natural combination of red corundum crystals within a green fuchsite-rich matrix, valued for its unusual colour contrast and textured surface. Ruby has been prized for centuries across India, Burma, and Sri Lanka, long associated with nobility, vitality, and ornament. Fuchsite, a chromium-rich mica, gives the stone its soft green body and, in finer pieces, a subtle reflective shimmer. What makes this material interesting is not just the colour pairing, but the fact that two very different mineral characters appear in one stone — one dense and vivid, the other softer and more layered.

Details
Stone: Ruby in Fuchsite
Source: China
Formation:
Ruby in fuchsite forms during regional metamorphism, where chromium-rich conditions allow green fuchsite mica to develop while corundum crystals form in the same host rock under high temperature and pressure. The result is a natural composite stone in which ruby appears as grains, patches, or crystal sections within a foliated green matrix. In some material, the fuchsite may show a soft micaceous shimmer due to its reflective layered structure.
Ring material: Brass with silver-tone finish.
Alternative finishes and sterling silver versions may be available upon request, depending on the design.
