Collection: Tiger's Eye
A variety of quartz known for its shifting, silky bands of light —
an effect called chatoyancy, or the “cat’s eye.”
This optical effect comes from parallel fibers within the stone,
where light reflects in a narrow band that moves as the surface turns.
Tiger’s Eye forms through a gradual replacement process, where original fibrous minerals are preserved as silica takes their place over time.
Its characteristic golden-brown tones come from iron within the structure, giving it both warmth and contrast.
Used since ancient times,
it was carved into amulets and worn for protection,
valued not just for appearance,
but for how it seemed to catch and hold light.
Today, it is often chosen for that same quality —
not static, but responsive.
